Klipfolio’s own pitch for Klips is that if you know your way around spreadsheets, you’ll feel right at home. That is true, and it is the catch. A Klip runs on formulas you look after.
Which is fine if you like formulas. If you just wanted to see this month’s revenue next to last month’s, it is a lot of editor between you and one number.
How a dashboard gets built
In Klips you connect a data source, open the data source editor and write formulas with built-in functions to get the growth rate, the target or the ratio you care about. Then you drop the visualization onto a grid. It is powerful. It is also yours to fix when an API changes the shape of what it sends back.
On Context Board you describe the result. “This month’s Lemon Squeezy revenue against last month, Google Analytics users for 30 days, and my top Search Console queries with their positions.” Your agent adds the widgets over MCP and you drag them where you want them.
When you connect something yourself, there is still no formula. Paste an API’s address and the form lists the likely numbers in its answer, counts and totals first. You tap one. Every form shows what the widget will say before anything goes on the board.
A board that carries your agents too
If you build with Claude Code or Codex, the board can show that next to the business. Set up the runner once with one line from Connect, add the AI usage widget from the gallery, and it shows what is left of each plan’s five-hour window and week, with when each resets.
Beside it, Agent activity lists every session on your computer and whether it is working, done or waiting on you. From your sessions, only names, states and percentages leave the machine.
What it costs a solo founder
Klips has no free plan. Base is $140 a month billed monthly, or $120 a month billed annually, for three dashboards refreshed every four hours. Hourly refresh means Grow at $220 a month. Fifteen-minute refresh means Team at $350. Unlimited users come with all of them, which matters for a team and changes nothing when it is just you.
A year of Klips Base paid annually is $1,440. A year of Context Board is $72, after a 3-day trial, with every connection, widget and theme in the one plan. The agent that builds it is the one you already pay for.
Where Klipfolio still fits
Klipfolio is built for people who want control at the formula level. Klips joins data from several sources, calculates with built-in functions, emails PDF or image snapshots of a dashboard on a schedule, and publishes dashboards as links or embeds, with unlimited users on every plan and a white-label bundle for agencies.
That is a reporting job for a team or an agency. Context Board is one founder’s live board, shared as a read-only link when someone needs to see it, and it does not send scheduled reports. If you report to clients every month, run both. If you want to see your business today without writing a formula, start with the board.
Try it with your revenue and traffic
Connect your revenue source and Google Analytics, then ask your agent for the three numbers you check first every morning. See how long it takes.
Start your Context Board, free for 3 days. The Lemon Squeezy dashboard and Google Analytics dashboard pages show what each connection reads.
