What it does
Pick a folder on your computer and its Markdown opens as notes: properties, headings, checklists, tables, callouts, pictures and diagrams. Other text shows as code, and pictures and PDFs open too.
[[Links]] open the note they point to. The links pane shows every note that links here, with the line each link sits in, and notes that mention it without a link.
Search runs on your computer and finds the words inside your notes, line by line. Ctrl O opens any note by its name.
The board’s chat runs on your computer with Claude or Codex, so it can search and read the folder and answer from your own notes.
Neighbours draws the open note and every note it links with: links out, links in and both ways. Click one to open it.
You choose each folder on the computer itself. A read-only folder is never changed from the board, and every change keeps the file as it was for 30 days.
Ask your agents
You ask: What did we decide about pricing?
Two plans, $29 and $59, from notes/Pricing.md
You ask: List the to-dos in my notes
Seven open to-dos from two notes
You ask: Summarize what’s in my project folder
What you are building, pricing and who you talk to
Also try Codex: “What links to the Roadmap?”

No. The board keeps no copy of your files. It reads each one from your computer when you open it, through the runner, and keeps nothing once you close it.
The runner on your computer, which you add once with one line from Connect, and a folder you choose on that computer, read only or read and write. Your computer needs to be on for the board to show the files.
Markdown notes, drawn with their links, tags, checklists, tables, callouts, pictures and diagrams. Other text shows as code, and pictures and PDFs open too. Anything else is listed by name.
Only in a folder you chose as read and write. A read-only folder is never changed from the board, and every change keeps the file as it was, on your computer, for 30 days.
Yes. It follows Obsidian’s links, embeds, callouts, aliases and tags. It skips the .obsidian folder, so plugins and themes stay in Obsidian.
Context Board is free for 3 days, then $12 a month for the whole workspace: files, plans, docs, sheets, dashboards and every other kind of board. The board’s chat runs on the Claude or Codex plan you already pay for.
Files sit beside docs, plans, mind maps and every other kind of board, in one workspace your agents work in with you.
