You ask ChatGPT about your numbers all the time. You paste in a CSV, a screenshot of Stripe, last week’s signups. It answers well. The next morning you paste them in again.
Connect Context Board and ChatGPT can read the numbers itself. They are already on your board, live.
What ChatGPT can do with your board
Ask what needs your attention and it reads every widget before it answers. Ask for three lines for your investor update and it writes them from the real numbers, not the ones you remembered to paste.
On plans with full MCP, it builds too. It adds a chart and fills it from the CSV you just uploaded. It puts three things on your to-do list. It posts a line to the board’s activity feed when it finishes a piece of research. Every change shows with ChatGPT’s name on it, and you can undo it.
Where the numbers come from
ChatGPT does not hold any of the numbers. Your board does. Services you connect in the board’s Connect window, like Stripe, Google Analytics or Search Console, read live while the board is open. So when ChatGPT reads a widget, it reads what the service said, not a copy from last week.
When ChatGPT sends data, it lands as a number, a list, a table or a short report, and the board shows exactly what arrived. A value the board cannot read is refused. It never turns into a zero.
Which ChatGPT plans can connect it
This part is up to OpenAI, and it moves. As of October 2026, OpenAI’s help center says full MCP, reading and writing, is for Business and Enterprise/Edu. Pro can connect custom MCP servers with read and fetch permissions, so ChatGPT on Pro reads your board but does not change it. Custom MCP servers work on ChatGPT’s website, not the phone apps.
If your plan cannot add one, there are other ways in. If you use Codex, it adds the board from your terminal with one command. Claude adds it as a custom connector on any Claude plan, the free one included.
