Your business runs on a few lists. What you pay for each month, who’s on a trial, which studios still need a setup call. Airtable will hold all of it, for a team, priced per seat. If it’s you and your agents, you need a sheet with formulas and a small app for the process no app fits.
Context Board has both, Sheet boards and Custom app boards, in one workspace your agents work in. Context Board is ours, so weigh the bias. Airtable’s prices were read on its own site on November 4, 2026.
A spreadsheet your agents fill in
Codex added row 8, the yearly cost filled itself in, and the total moved. Example sheet, example numbers.
A Sheet board is tabs of cells, like the sheets you know. Type = to start a formula: the everyday Google Sheets ones work, from SUM and IF to SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, FILTER and TEXTJOIN, with references across tabs. Change a number and every formula that reads it works itself out again.
Ask Codex to “add the analytics tool at $19 a month.” The row lands with its formula, glows in Codex’s color, and the totals move. Board activity names Codex on the change, with an Undo. Chart a range beside the cells, or put it on a slide, and the slide follows the sheet.
Import an Excel or CSV file and every tab comes in with its formulas, number formats and widths. Download a tab as CSV, or the whole sheet as .xlsx. A tab holds 10,000 rows and a sheet 40 tabs. The Sheet docs list every tool.
A small app your agent writes
Claude wrote this app from one sentence. Brightside Yoga is a record it just added, and the app showed it at once. Example app, example studios.
Some work fits no app you can buy. Say you onboard studios. Each one has a plan, a trial and four steps to going live. Tell your agent “build me a studio onboarding tracker: each studio, its plan, and four steps to live,” and it writes that app on a Custom board.
Type a studio and press Enter. It’s saved as a record on every computer you use, Undo takes it back, and a deleted record waits 30 days in the trash. Tell Claude “Brightside Yoga signed up today” and its write lands in the app at once, with Board activity saying who made it. Ask “which studios are still at Signed up?” and it answers from the records. Want a filter by plan? Ask, and the agent changes the app.
The app runs in a sealed frame with no network, so it can’t fetch anything or send your records anywhere, and you can read its code. Duplicate keeps the app and its records. New board from this gives you the same app, empty.
What your agents can do in each
- Reads a tab as a table, and writes cells, rows, formulas and sorts
- Reads an app’s records, and adds, changes or removes up to 500 in a call
- Writes the app, and changes it when you ask
- Runs on the plan you already pay for
- Omni builds apps, tables, interfaces and automations
- Field Agents research and write in your records
- Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor read and update records over MCP
- Omni questions and Field Agents spend AI credits
Airtable’s AI is strong, and its MCP server is on every plan, Free included. The difference is whose AI does the work and what else it can see. On the board it’s your own Claude or Codex, on the plan you already pay for, and the same agent that fills the sheet also writes the doc, the deck and the posts beside it.
What it costs
Airtable’s prices from its plans page on November 4, 2026. Billed monthly, Team is $24 and Business $54 a seat. The Free plan holds 1,000 records a base.
Airtable charges per seat, and its AI runs on credits. Context Board is one plan for every board you make, and your agents bring their own plans, so the sheet, the app and everything beside them are in the $12.
Where Airtable still fits
Pick Airtable if a team builds on shared data. Bases with tens of thousands of records, permissions from Owner to Read-only, forms, automations and interfaces built on a base are what it’s built for. Omni and its MCP server make it a strong place for agents to work, too.
Context Board is built for one person and their agents. A Custom app holds up to 2,000 records, is yours only and isn’t shared by link, and there’s no team plan or seats. If the lists are yours, start with the board. Already on Airtable? The Airtable MCP guide covers connecting Claude to your bases.
Try it with your running costs
Make a Sheet board, import last month’s costs from Excel, and ask your agent to add a row and a share-of-MRR line. Then ask it for the one tracker you keep in your head.
Start your Context Board, free for 3 days. The Custom apps page shows more of what an agent can build.
