    Mozilla shut Pocket down The app closed. Only the export stayed open, for a few more months.

How to move from Pocket

  1. Step 1 Add ContextBolt to Chrome Free from the Chrome Web Store, with no card. Pin it so the ContextBolt icon sits next to the address bar. That icon is your new save button.
  2. Step 2 Save the articles you still want There is no Pocket import, so pick the twenty you would hate to lose. Look in your Chrome bookmarks, your open tabs, or a Pocket export if you kept one. Open each article, click the icon, then Save this page.
  3. Step 3 Read it, or search for it Click any save in your dashboard to read it in ContextBolt Reader. Or type a few words you remember. Search covers the article text too, and it forgives typos.

Where each Pocket feature lives now

Most of what you used Pocket for has a home in ContextBolt. Save, read, tag and search all work at your desk, in the browser you already use.

The old saves do not come across. The export closed in November 2025, and ContextBolt has no Pocket importer. Open the articles you still want and save each one. Twenty is plenty.

Not carried over: a phone app. ContextBolt runs in desktop Chrome.

Is ContextBolt a one-to-one Pocket replacement?

At your desk, mostly. Two clicks save any web page with its text, and a click on the save in your dashboard opens it in ContextBolt Reader, a clean reading view with one button back to the original. Your X, Reddit and LinkedIn saves land in the same library. It runs in desktop Chrome, so there is no phone app, and reading on a train stays a job for Instapaper or Readwise Reader. Can I import my Pocket CSV into ContextBolt?

No. There is no Pocket importer. A Pocket export is a list of links, titles and tags with no article text, so importing it would hand you a pile of empty links. ContextBolt keeps the page text at the moment you save. The practical move is to open the twenty saves you would be annoyed to lose and save each one, which takes about ten minutes. The migration guide walks through it.

I missed the Pocket export. Can I get my saves back?

No. Mozilla closed the export on November 12, 2025, after two extensions, and the saved items were deleted, so no tool can recover them. If some of those articles are still in your Chrome bookmarks or open tabs, open the ones that matter and save them in ContextBolt.

Does ContextBolt save web articles like Pocket did?

Yes. Click the ContextBolt icon on any page and press Save this page. It keeps the title, the author, the site and the article text, with the nav, ads and comments stripped out. Click the save in your dashboard and it opens in ContextBolt Reader as a formatted article, still there to read if the original is later changed or deleted. Because it reads the tab you already have open, it also works on pages behind a login. The web bookmarks page covers what gets kept.

What happens to my saves if ContextBolt shuts down?

Your library is stored in your own browser, on your computer, so the saves in it stay there. Without our server it falls back to the free plan, which shows up to 150 bookmarks. On Pro you can export the whole library as CSV, JSON or Excel at any time, so keep a copy you control.

Is ContextBolt free?

Yes, up to 150 bookmarks, with no time limit and no card. ContextBolt Reader and search are included. Pro is $6/month for unlimited bookmarks, cloud sync, export, and the MCP endpoint for Claude, Cursor and Codex.
