How to search your X bookmarks

Search reads the post, the author, the tags and the topic of every save. Type any of them and the closest matches come first.

Put words in quotes to match them exactly, like "rail pass". A minus drops a word: kyoto -hotel.

The topic and tags are added when the save lands. You never type them. Example library.

Can't I just search my bookmarks on X?

You can. X added a search box to the bookmarks page in late 2024, and it matches the words in the tweet. ContextBolt's search also reads the author and the topic and tags it adds to every save. A typo or half a word still finds the tweet, and your Reddit and LinkedIn saves sit in the same search.

Does it search the whole thread, or just the tweet I saved?

Just the tweet you saved. X bookmarks one tweet at a time, and that is the tweet ContextBolt captures and indexes. If you want more of a thread in your library, bookmark the replies you care about and each one becomes searchable.

What about bookmarks I made years ago?

When you visit your X bookmarks page after installing, ContextBolt reads the bookmarks X loads and scrolls to pull in more, so older ones become searchable for the first time. If X stops loading older bookmarks, those stay out of reach.

Can I filter by author, network or tag?

Yes. Type from:slowroadsam or @slowroadsam for one author, on:reddit for one network, or tag:japan for one tag. Quotes match exact words, and a minus drops a word, as in kyoto -hotel. Search has no date filter.

Does it work on the X mobile app?

ContextBolt is a Chrome extension, so capture happens in your browser. If you bookmark on mobile, the items still appear in your library after your browser next visits the bookmarks page.

Is the search fast on a big library?

Yes. The search index is held on your device, so results update as you type, with no trip to a server and back. On the free plan, search covers up to 150 bookmarks. Pro removes the cap.
