LinkedIn export · Chrome extension

Export your LinkedIn saved posts.
Words and all.

LinkedIn's own export is a list of links and dates. ContextBolt's button keeps each post's text and author the moment you save it, tagged by topic. Download them as CSV, JSON or Excel on Pro.

An illustration with an example library: the same four LinkedIn posts, exported two ways. On the left, LinkedIn's own Saved Items file from its data download, which holds only a date and a link for each save. On the right, the ContextBolt export of the same posts saved with the ContextBolt button, with each post's author, text and topic. Below, the ContextBolt export window with LinkedIn picked as the source, a Pro feature.

Why LinkedIn saved posts are hard to export

  • A request, then a wait of up to 48 hours Settings & Privacy, Data Privacy, Download your data. Then LinkedIn emails you a link when the file is ready.
  • The Saved Items file holds a link and a date No post text, no author, no topic. To read a save, you open its link, one at a time.
  • A link stops opening when the post goes If the author deletes a post, the link in your file leads nowhere, and the words are gone.

Old saves and new

What the file holds for each kind of save

ContextBolt exports what it holds. A post saved with our button carries its words. An older save carries what LinkedIn hands over.

  1. 01Posts you save with our buttonThe post’s text and author, its topic and tags, and the day you saved it. That is every save from now on.
  2. 02Posts you saved on LinkedIn beforeYou can upload LinkedIn’s Saved Items CSV in ContextBolt’s settings. The saves it brings in arrive as links with their dates, because that is all LinkedIn’s file holds. If it cannot read your file, get in touch.

ContextBolt never reads your LinkedIn saved list, so it cannot fetch the text of older saves. Save a post with our button and its words come with it.

As an X/Twitter user, I’ve bookmarked close to 2,000 tweets, posts, videos and articles over the years. The problem is there isn’t an easy or straightforward way for me to extract, summarise, or synthesise the content I find insightful… ContextBolt solves this challenge for me.

Can you export LinkedIn saved posts?

Yes, two ways. LinkedIn's data download (Settings & Privacy, then Data Privacy, then Download your data, with Saved Items ticked) gives you a Saved Items CSV with a link and a date for each save. LinkedIn says it can take up to 48 hours. To export the posts themselves, with their text and author, save them with ContextBolt's button and export on Pro.

Does LinkedIn's export include the text of saved posts?

No. The Saved Items file holds a link and a date per save. There is no post text, no author and no topic. To read a save you open its link, and once the author deletes the post, that link leads nowhere.

Can ContextBolt export the posts I already saved on LinkedIn?

As links, not as posts. ContextBolt never reads your LinkedIn saved list, so it cannot fetch the text of saves you made with LinkedIn's own Save. You can upload LinkedIn's Saved Items CSV in ContextBolt's settings, and the saves it brings in arrive as links with their dates. LinkedIn has changed that file's layout before, so if the import cannot read yours, get in touch. Every post you save with our button from now on keeps its words.

What is in a ContextBolt export?

One row per save. CSV and Excel files have 11 columns: Exported At, Saved At, Post Date, Platform, Topic Cluster, Type, Author, Title, Content, URL and Tags. JSON carries the full content and metadata. A LinkedIn post saved with our button brings its text, author, topic, tags and the date you saved it. Its URL is the post's own link when your feed shows one, and the author's profile when it does not.

Is the LinkedIn export free?

Saving and searching are free for up to 150 bookmarks, with no account and no card. Exporting to a file is on Pro, $6 a month, which also removes the 150 cap.

Can I export only my LinkedIn saves?

Yes. Set Source to LinkedIn, or pick Everything to include your X, Reddit and web page saves too. You can also narrow it to what you saved in the last 7, 30 or 90 days, or 12 months. X bookmarks export the same way. See how to export X bookmarks.

What happens to a saved post if its author deletes it?

If you saved it with the ContextBolt button, its text stays in your library and in every export after, because ContextBolt keeps its own copy from the moment you click. A save that came from LinkedIn's CSV is only a link, so it stops opening once the post is gone.

Is it safe for my LinkedIn account?

ContextBolt only acts when you click its button, and it saves only the post you clicked. It does not scroll your feed, post, message anyone or call LinkedIn's API. It never asks for your LinkedIn password. More on the button in how to save LinkedIn posts.
