ChatGPTMozilla shut Pocket down in July 2025. So this is not really a comparison. It is a question about what you were using Pocket for, because that decides what you need next.
Most people say “read later” and mean two things at once. One is reading. The other is not losing something. Pocket did both badly enough that you tolerated it and well enough that you never replaced it. ContextBolt replaces the second one, which is the one most people were actually using, and on desktop it covers the first too, opening any save in a clean reading view.
Almost nobody was using it to read
Be honest about the list. You saved 900 articles and read about 40. It was not a queue, it was an insurance policy. You wanted to know the thing was somewhere.

On Pro, that library is reachable over MCP, so Claude or Codex can search it while you are writing the thing you needed it for. The export-plus-script versions Pocket users built for this were always fragile.
What it costs
Basic is free with no trial clock and capped at 150 bookmarks. Pro is $6 a month, no annual plan, and removes the 150 cap, adds cloud sync, and turns on semantic search through your agent. Pocket’s old $4.99 is history and not a real comparison.
