You have a deck already. Last quarter’s update, the pitch, the sales deck, built in PowerPoint and saved as a .pptx. To get an agent’s help with it, you paste slide text into a chat, then copy the answers back one slide at a time.
Import it instead. The deck becomes a Slides board that looks as it did, and Claude, Codex or any agent you connect edits it with you, in the same workspace as your docs and sheets.
It’s a copy. Nothing stays linked to PowerPoint or Microsoft, and you download it as a .pptx again whenever you’re done.
What comes over from PowerPoint
Each slide keeps its text boxes where they were, in their sizes, fonts and colors. Shapes, lines, pictures, tables and backgrounds come with them, and your speaker notes sit under each slide.
Most charts come in as charts you can still edit, with the numbers saved in the file. Animations that made things appear become builds on a click, and slide transitions become the nearest of fade, push or zoom.
A few things can’t come over as they were. Video keeps its first frame as a picture, sound stays behind, and a font the board doesn’t have is shown in the nearest one it does. Once the deck is in, a list says what came over differently, slide by slide, so nothing goes missing quietly.
The file is read in your browser. Decks up to 200 MB come in, up to 400 slides each.
What your agents do with it
Your agent reads the whole deck: each slide’s title, text, layout and speaker notes. Then it writes. Ask Claude to tighten every slide title, and each slide it rewrites glows with its name. Ask Codex for a slide with your live MRR chart after What we shipped, and the number on it is current every time you present.
Agents add slides after any slide, move them, change layouts and write speaker notes. A chart can take its numbers from a sheet you imported, and the slide changes when the sheet does. A slide an agent removes goes to the trash, where it waits 30 days.
Present it, or take it back out
Present, or P, fills the screen from the open slide. Presenter view keeps your notes, the next slide and a timer in front of you.
The ⋯ menu downloads the deck as:
- PowerPoint (.pptx): your slides with their text, pictures and notes, plus transitions, builds, hidden slides and sections. A live widget goes in as a picture of it.
- PDF or PDF with notes: through your browser’s print dialog.
- Markdown: the words as text, laid out in PowerPoint to Markdown.
From Google Slides, download the deck as a .pptx first, then import it the same way. Weighing other ways to make a deck with Claude? Every way to make slides with Claude compares them, with what each needs and costs.
