Muse is the personal agent Meta launched on September 8, 2026. Each Muse gets its own computer in Meta’s cloud, with its own browser, and it keeps working after you close the app. It runs on the web at muse.ai, on iOS and Android, and inside WhatsApp. That is the same category as Grok Bot, Hermes, and OpenClaw. It is not Muse Code, Meta’s terminal coding agent.

Muse ships with connectors for Gmail, Google Calendar, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and a list that is growing. Custom MCP is the route for anything outside that list, and there is no settings box for it. Meta’s help center says to ask Muse to create a Custom Connector, and it guides you through the process.

Keep the connection trusted

Meta does not review custom connectors, and its help page says so. That cuts both ways. Nobody at Meta has vetted the server you are connecting, so check the sign-in domain before you type a code. And no Muse update is needed for a new server to work, which is why this route exists. You can disconnect any connector from Settings, then Connectors, and disconnecting stops Muse exchanging data with it.

How do I connect an MCP server to Muse?

There is no MCP settings box. Meta's help center says to ask Muse to create a Custom Connector and it guides you through the setup. Give it the server's HTTPS URL and say it is a remote MCP server over streamable HTTP. Muse builds the connection on its own machine and the tools appear on the next message.

Is Muse the same as Muse Code?

No. Muse is Meta's personal agent on the web, iOS, Android, and WhatsApp, with a cloud computer of its own. Muse Code is Meta's terminal coding agent, installed from dev.meta.ai, which reads MCP servers from a settings.json file on your machine. This page is Muse. The Muse Code setup is on its own page.

Why can't I use a local MCP server?

Muse's computer is in Meta's cloud, not on your desk. A server that only listens on localhost is unreachable from that machine. ContextBolt SEO is already hosted at seo.contextbolt.app over HTTPS, so that problem is handled. Do not point Muse at 127.0.0.1 and expect tools to appear.

Does Meta check the connector before I use it?

No. Meta's help page says it does not review custom connectors or how they use your information, so check the sign-in page is on seo.contextbolt.app before you enter a code. ContextBolt SEO's data tools are read-only lookups against your own credit balance. Nothing in it writes to your website or your accounts.

Does Muse work outside the US?
