Grok Bot is xAI’s always-on agent, shipped with Cursor. Each bot gets its own cloud computer, its own logins, and the ability to keep working after you close the laptop. That is the same category as Hermes and OpenClaw. It is not the Grok CLI, and it is not a Grok chat tab.

Official Cursor docs cover marketplace plugins (Gmail, Notion, Slack). Custom MCP is the path that is easy to miss. There is no settings form. Cursor staff said so on the forum on August 30, 2026: tell the bot to add the server in chat.

If Grok Bot offers a sign-in link, open it. Sign in with your ContextBolt SEO account email, enter the email code, and choose Allow connection. This is OAuth, which connects your account without putting a secret in the server URL.

Cursor documents adding a public MCP URL in chat, but that does not confirm OAuth support in every Grok Bot version. If yours cannot complete sign-in, use the personal URL from your ContextBolt SEO welcome email instead.

Replace YOUR_TOKEN with the value from your email. This compatibility URL already contains the credential, so it needs no Authorization header. Keep it private, like a password. Use one connection method, not both.

After the bot confirms the connection, send a new message.

What SEO tools do you have? List them.

You want keyword research, keyword difficulty, SERP overview, domain overview, and the backlink tools. If the list is empty, check that sign-in finished or that you copied the full personal URL. The server must be reachable over HTTPS. Pointing the bot at 127.0.0.1 will not help.

  1. Add the hosted server

    In Grok Bot chat, send Add this MCP server: https://seo.contextbolt.app/mcp. You need an active ContextBolt SEO trial or subscription.

  2. Complete the connection

    If the bot offers sign-in, enter your SEO account email and email code, then allow access. If your version cannot complete OAuth, add the private URL from your welcome email instead. Use only one method.

  3. Check the tools

    After the bot confirms, ask what SEO tools it has. Check sign-in or the full personal URL if the tools are missing.

  4. Connect Search Console if needed

    Ask to connect Google Search Console and approve Google read-only access for your own clicks and positions.

Is Grok Bot the same as the Grok CLI? +
No. Grok Bot is xAI's always-on agent, distributed with Cursor, with its own cloud computer and routines. The Grok CLI (Grok Build) is a terminal coding agent that uses grok mcp add and ~/.grok/config.toml. This page is Grok Bot. A localhost MCP that works in the CLI will not work in Grok Bot, because the bot runs in the cloud.
How do I add a custom MCP server to Grok Bot? +
There is no settings form. Cursor staff, on the Cursor forum on August 30, 2026, said to tell the bot to add the server in chat, for example 'Add this MCP server: https://your-app.example.com/mcp'. The endpoint must be public HTTPS, streamable HTTP or SSE. ContextBolt SEO already is.
Why can't I use a local MCP server? +
Grok Bot's computer is in the cloud. A server that only listens on localhost on your PC is unreachable from the bot. ContextBolt SEO is hosted at seo.contextbolt.app, so that constraint is already handled.
Do I need an Authorization header? +
OAuth handles authentication after browser sign-in. With the personal-URL compatibility option, no header is needed because the token sits in the URL path. Do not paste the URL into a public chat, a screenshot, or a shared prompt library. If it leaks, rotate it from your ContextBolt SEO account.
